Whats the best driver to get for a fast golf swing?

Tuesday Feb 17, 2009

I swing my clubs pretty fast and i'm not sure what kinda driver would compliment my swing the best any ideas.

Simple..and no brainer. Call, or go by your local golf course, or maybe a golf shop, and find out if they have a golf professional on staff that does club fitting. Fast is fast…but how fast?? They are equipped usually to check a lot of things on how to find the best club, proper shaft, etc. to fit your game. And if there is a cost, it is nominal. But, the benefits for you are many. And, believe me…I have, as well as many other golfers, have bought what we thought was the right club…and wasn't. A very expensive lesson learned!!!! With all the technology today in golf and golf clubs, there is an awful lot to know. Your golf professional has the answers. Good luck. And…good golfing. It is a great game.

What happened to my golf swing?

Wednesday Dec 24, 2008

I just started playing golf this year (13 yrs old) And in a few months I had an ok swing and could hit the ball pretty well with iron. My dad and I go to the range every week, and this week we went and i couldn't do anything. I kept topping the ball, missing it, or sending it into the wall of my range space. What is this??? How do I get my swing back? Do I have to start all over again? Im swinging worse than I was when I first started. Could someone help?

well immy or whatever your name is you were real helpful.
It sounds like you need to just take it easy, relax and just play. A lot (or at least I've found, new player too) that a lot of this golf is psych….all in your head….so find your happy place, relax, then swing and you should be out golfin your dad in no time. and btw there is a great source for you to find out about your swing…. your dad!
g'luck and remember #1 rule …. have fun!!

I need help on my golf swing!?

Saturday Dec 6, 2008

anybody know some good basics to a good golf swing?

The ONLY way is to take lessons from a golf pro, may be pricey but weel worth it. I have also found that playing as opposed to spending countless hours on the driving range also helps as hitting off of "fake" grass does not help the swing. It also depends on your level of skill, have you just started to play, or do you just have the yips!! In any event, seek help my friend, you cant give yourself a haircut can you?

Help with golf swing….vids included?

Thursday Nov 27, 2008

I am a 9.4 hadicap but cant seem to get any better. I would appreciate some constructive criticism on my swing, anything that can be pointed out would help. I do know i have a flat swing which I've been trying to work on. Since my swing is somewhat inconsistent I have posted 4 vids.

correction…..5 vids :)
Nice swing, a little flat but that’s OK. Good rhythm, tempo, low launch angle, hard inside-out motion. Everything looks good…with your driver. I haven’t seen you short game but I will assume you hit a low ball with most irons. Do you run shots over the green? Are you always yelling STOP? You may need to work on a short-range (<100 yards) flop, or very high fade. This shot is going to help you sick more greens, and stop it closer to the pin.
Your driver swing doesn’t look like a 9.4 handicap swing, your issues must be inside 100 yards, pitching and PUTTING.

Proper Golf Swing - One of the harder things to Master

Monday Nov 17, 2008

Most beginning golfers don’t realize how much skill and technique goes into a proper golf swing. It looks so easy when you see experienced golfers or pros swing - it even sounds quite simple when the theory of the technique is explained to you. But watching it and hearing about it, and actually doing it yourself are indeed two different things!

An effective golf swing takes quite a bit of practice to perfect. People spend years working on their swing. Keep in mind that the object is to get the ball into the hole at or under par for that hole….but the swing is what determines whether that actually happens or not. Essentially, a proper golf swing determines the entire outcome of the game!

An effective golf swing is accomplished by forming a triangle with your shoulders and arms, and keeping that triangle locked in place throughout the entire swinging process. This is often easier said than done, and you will find that you lose control of the ball by slicing a great deal before you get the concept down. When you draw the club back, you do not move your arms, even though your arms are essentially moving. What you are really moving is your shoulder and your hips - without ever actually moving your arms.

There are many training aids available to help you develop a good golf swing. You should take advantage of the available technology to improve your game. There are aids that will help you keep your arms locked, as well as aids that help you keep your wrists locked. There are aids to help you correct your stance, as well as your backswing, upswing, and even the force with which you hit the ball. If you have an issue that needs to be corrected in your golf game or swing, there is a golfing aid available to help you!

Making a video tape, showing your swing from all angles will also help you improve your game. Have a friend video tape your swing. Get lots of footage on the tape, and then watch it - in slow motion. Really pay attention to every aspect of your swing, watching from your head down to your feet. Making yourself aware of the mistakes is the first step to solving them. If you know what problems exist, you will pay special attention to those areas the next time you play. With enough practice and determination, you can correct those problems.

Don’t be afraid to look funny. Looking good on the golf course is not your top priority - playing a great game of golf is what you are after. Some people have a stance that looks a little funny to others…but those same people have perfected that stance to the point where they have greatly improved their swing because of it. Some people grip the club in a funny manner. Some people play ‘natural golf’ using ‘natural golf swings.’ This form of golf does look funny to traditional golfers - but it is quite effective. Don’t be afraid of being different if it helps you play better!

Studying the swings of great golfers can be a training tool within itself. However, it is important to remember that you are an individual. While you can try many of their techniques, their exact technique probably won’t work as well for you as it does for them. Take their techniques, and work with them to make them your very own - as long as they improve your game.

You can practice your swing at home or at the office (if this is allowed). You don’t need a ball; you just need a little room. Swing the club, just as you would if you were going to hit the ball. Instead of concentrating on needing to hit the ball, however, concentrate on the actual swing. You should also consider using training clubs as well. These will build your strength a great deal, allowing you to hit the ball harder and farther than ever before!

Remember that developing a proper golf swing takes time, practice and patience. If you are having problems, do not get frustrated, or give up. Keep working at it, and look for the solution you need to correct the swing problems you have. One of these days, you will be playing like a pro!

Golf Swing Trainers Can Fix Any Swing Fault

Saturday Nov 1, 2008

When I talk to golfers about improving their golf swings, they almost every time bring up golf swing trainers. What I mean is the training aids like Medicus, Kallasssy’s Swing Magic, and many others. These golf swing aids can be very effective if you take the right approach from the beginning.

What is your swing fault?

The first thing you need to do is diagnose your specific swing fault. Every golfer has a swing fault that creeps into his or her game on a daily basis. Don’t you? Even if you have a good round going, doesn’t your dreaded swing fault show up sooner than later? I know this is what happens to me.

Once you recognize your consistent golf swing fault, you need to look at the mechanics or physical issues that are causing it. This will help you narrow down you decision for a golf swing trainer that will help you achieve your goals.

Don’t buy it because it’s popular!

It is so easy to fall into the trap of infomercials. They are done so well, before you know it…you are getting your credit card out and placing your order. Don’t do it! Pay attention to the exact issue each and every swing trainer addresses. The problem is most of them say they solve ALL the swing faults, which is not possible.

Your body is doing something incorrect, and it is causing your swing fault. Not every trainer out there can correct this physical issue. Therefore, you should not fall for the marketing pitch these companies are doing to you. Stay focused and pick your weapon wisely.

See if you can demo one from your local golf store.

One thing golfers never do is try to use it for free. That’s right! Go in there and tell them you are interested in and do they have the particular one you want to use as a demo. If they have one that has been returned, they will do it. I have done it and it works. You can’t be shy! Go in and give it a try!

Use it consistently!

Now you’ve made your decision, spent the money and have it in your possession. What normally happens is you use it once or twice and put it in your golf garage never to use it again right? I can say this because I have done it. If you want to be successful with your new golf swing trainer, you’ve go to use it regularly! I know this sounds stupid, but I know 80% of golfers don’t do this.

To be successful in anything, you need to be persistent and consistent with your new program. Set out to use it daily at a certain time of the day and schedule it in. I am dead serious! Put it in your appointment book and do it! This will insure you have a constant reminder to use it. Take this approach and the sky is the limit!

How to Improve your Golf Swing - Get a Pro Golfer to Help You

Monday Oct 20, 2008

One of the best ways to get better at your golfing skills, is to hire the training of a pro-golf trainer. If you’re anything like me, you’re a “do it on my own” king of person. But this is in many cases the wrong approach. A pro golfer can give you specific instruction and exercises that will help you improve a lot faster that you will on your own. It will also be a lot less painful.

So getting a golf pro to rain and instruct you on your golf swing is a great idea. Now, how do you go about finding just the right golf instructor?

There are a number of ways to do that. You can go to golf shops and look at ads or ask the shop keeper and other people who come to the shop. Another way is to go the country club or golf course and ask around. Don’t just go for the first instructor you meet, but examine a few of them. Try to watch them as they give lessons to other students, and than ask yourself - is this an instructor I would like to work with?

When hiring a golf instructor, it’s important you take a few lessons with them and ask yourself - do I have good communication with this gold pro? If you feel there remains a communication gap between two of you, there is no harm in parting ways and looking for a new gold instructor. Even your current pro may be able to make a recommendation if you just explain to him/her your difficulties in a polite and respectful manner.

When you do find a good instructor you want to work with, don’t make the mistake of thinking that you can have the perfect swing in just a few sessions. It takes a lot more than that to improve your game significantly. Every student has his/her own pace, and golf techniques take time to learn, and even more time to perfect. Always listen to your gold trainer, and don’t waste your and his time by neglecting to implement his instructions. Your instructor will also recommend additional practice time, and you will be wise to listed to this advice and take advantage of this.

If your gold pro does a good job, there is no harm in giving them a nice tip or bonus. It’s worthwhile to keep in mind that golf pro’s take much pride in their work and profession. They also have a lot of passion to the game and if you show similar passion and respect their skill, you will get a lot in return.
